Our Story

We’re IX, a vibrant mix of men’s and women’s volleyball players based mostly in Arizona and Las Vegas. Many of us are not just players; we’re also coaches, sharing our passion and skills with young athletes in high schools, clubs, and colleges.

Ix is born

A small group from Irvine, California start a new VLA team named Team IX (Irvine Extreme).

Ownership transfer

Vince Zanzucchi, co-owner of the VLA and owner of Ascension, picks up Team IX.

IX debut

Tyler Gardenhire, setter for Ascension, takes the reigns of IX and assembles a roster to compete against other Arizona VLA teams.

IX travels to Henderson, NV and wins their first Winter Bash tournament!

IX travels to San Diego, CA to get their first Cup win!

IX travels to Madison, WI and places 5th out of 42 teams at the VLA Cup.
